Maribel Yolanda's story

Maribel Yolanda is a 52-year-old microentrepreneur and a resident of the city of Barranquilla. Nine years ago, she built her own business dedicated to selling pharmaceutical, medicinal, cosmetic, and grooming products wholesale. There, she offers health services, general medicine, specialists, rehabilitative massages for patients with disabilities, relaxing massages, and more. Currently the business has 4 permanent employees, which contributes to job creation for the families. She has as customers individuals and companies.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they had to close their doors temporarily because of national government directives and her cash flow diminished. They are in the process or reopening with all the pertinent biosafety protocols. For this, she joined the Programa Barranquilla Responde, led by the chamber of commerce, to ask for her first Kiva loan through Fundación Santo Domingo, where the business will invest in the purchase of N95 and other masks, gloves, antibacterial gel, surgical gowns, surgical gloves, and more. Support her in her loan.
