I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina from a Puerto Rican mother and an Argentine father, which generated in me the feeling of love for Spanish-American literature. Buenos Aires is the city in the world with the most bookstore per capita, so imagine how those summer afternoons were, walking hand in hand with my parents and sometimes my grandparents along Corrientes Avenue full of bookstores.
In the city of great writers, there are always discussions or dialogues regarding some cultural, literary, or simply fictional events. This leads me to remember the countless summer afternoons in which the “nonos” (my grandparents) took us to visit the theaters, parks, or any public spaces where various characters talked about rhetorical themes. Likewise, on cold nights, when our parents read stories to us, made a joke for us, or simply made up a story to appease the curiosity of their daughters.
Throughout my life, I have been able to appreciate how literature brings us together regardless of the place where you are as a reader. From an early age, I was interested in reading, whether it was real or fictitious. When I moved to Puerto Rico I was able to acquire knowledge with the traditional family stories, legends, as well as my hunger for intensive knowledge.
I studied Comparative Literature at UPRM, which led me to continue my master's degree in Puerto Rican and Caribbean Literature at CEAPRC. Giving me a passage between diverse writers, professors, and publishers, regarding what we know as Latin American literature. It remains for me to say that we are an accumulation of all the experiences that we go throughout life.
The initial motivation arises when I coincide with Brenda Díaz, my first published writer who owns a literary work that circumscribes the various characters in Puerto Rican society. Having all these experiences, knowledge, and desire to help Puerto Rican writers, I set about creating CAT Editorial LLC.

CAT Editorial LLC, is a purely Puerto Rican publishing house that works with Puerto Rican writers who want to expose their works and also contribute to the culture, literature, and economy of Puerto Rico. We take care of the publishing, design, graphic arts, layout, printing, and promotion of the books. We are currently working on the edition, design, and graphic art of 6 literary works.
The idea of creating this editorial arises from those causalities of life, upon meeting our first writer published in the editorial. Currently, the business is developed from my home and is found in digital spaces, as well as the sale of books in various Puerto Rican bookstores.
What is the purpose of this loan?
I am in need of the loan in order to continue to grow and to expand the publications of Puerto Rican authors to international markets and, in the same way, generate more direct jobs on the island. With this loan, we will be able to publish both the digital and printed formats of the literary works, which we are currently working on.
It is expected that with the help of this loan, sales will increase between 60% and 80% since we will use it for the promotion, publication, and presentation of new novels.

What does "Partner covers currency loss" mean & how could it affect my Kiva loans?
When lending internationally, the local currency in a borrower's country may lose some of its value compared to the US dollar -- requiring the partner to use more of its local currency to repay Kiva in USD. We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
"Partial" means that the Lending Partner has opted to cover losses only up to 10%. If the U.S. dollar appreciates more than 10% against the local currency, those losses will be passed onto lenders.
