A loan helped to cover her first and second year of tuition at the university.

Ani's story

Ani is 20 years old and lives in Tblisi with her parents and her brother. She decided to apply for a student loan when she entered a state university since she has no opportunity to cover the educational expenses for her beginning academic years.

Student loans are a joint project between Kiva and its field partner, Credo Bank, which gives Georgian students the chance to get an education. Ani wants to study at the law school and make a future successful career for herself. At the moment, she generates a small income by instructing pupils as a private teacher.

Ani hopes to earn a good wage after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree so that she can provide financial stability for her family.

This loan is special because:

It allows low-income students to pursue education and find jobs before repaying.
