A loan helped buy a calf.

Valeria's story

Valeria is a small cattle rancher who lives in the Nueva Guinea municipality in the rural community of Villa Alvarez. She lives with her husband and son. They work the land together as a family. Valeria has worked in this activity since she was a little girl. Her parents taught her how to take care of the cattle and to farm. With this experience she has been able to have her own herd of livestock.

She is requesting her fifth loan with the AFODENIC institution. She will buy a calf to raise and fatten. Later she will sell it for a fair price so that she can get greater income. This is the way to strengthen her herd of cattle and improve the quality of life for her family.

Valeria’s greatest desire is to increase her herd. That way she will get ahead with other income in order to have a just and humane life.
