A loan helped a member to buy a baby cow.

Nua Ngam 29 Group's story

Married very early, Ms. Thanh, 27 years old, is a Laos ethnic woman and has 2 children: the oldest son is in 2nd grade, the youngest son is in kindergarten. Her family lives in a small house on stilts in the northern mountains of Vietnam, where agriculture is the main income activity.

She and her husband do some work to generate income for the family such as: growing rice, corn and cassava. In addition, she and her husband also do some breeding activities such as: raising cows, pigs, chickens and ducks.

She realized that raising cows brings high profits for her family so she wanted to invest in buying a baby cow, but due to lack of capital, she decided to get a loan from the Anh Chi Em program. She hopes that, with her 2 years of experience in raising cows together with technical support from program's staff, her baby cow will grow fast, be healthy and reproduce well. Investing is profitable, she will continue to re-invest and pay the tuition for her children.

In the picture, she stands at the first from the right.
