Wantanee's story

Wantanee is a married woman who lives with her husband and three children in a rural community in Surin Province, which is in northeastern Thailand. Her family cultivates rice on their farm. However, to generate additional income, she learned to make doormats to sell through an occupational group.

By making doormats, Wantanee is able to generate income for daily expenses and her children’s school fees. She is looking for an opportunity to expand her business, so she applied for a Kiva loan to buy fabric, thread, and other supplies for making her products.
