A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as fertilizers and seedlings to increase her tea plantation.

Doris's story

Doris, 35, is happily married and has been blessed with two children. They are both hardworking farmers who enjoy working together on the farm. They grow tea in a highly fertile agricultural area in Kenya. Their tea is supplied to factories that produce tea, some for the local market, and some for the export market. The major challenge she faces is the invasion of pests and occasionally the presence of unexpected weather patterns. She employs casual laborers on her farm who work on the plantation weeding and picking tea.

Doris is kindly requesting a loan that will help her to buy seeds and fertilizers and other farm inputs to boost her farm. This will improve her yield and enable her to pay back her loan on time. Her dream is to one day be an exporter of tea, and that her children will be able to get higher learning.
