A loan helped to purchase the ACE-1 hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting and charging in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Tebello's story

Tebello is a 18-year-old woman who lives in a 1-bedroom house, without access to electricity, by herself. Tebello relies on family support and struggles with buying multiple fuels and insufficient income. She spends most of her energy expenses on gas and paraffin, which cost up to LSL 280 per month. She also spends as much as 1 hour per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Tebello bought the ACE-1 cook-stove to help her and her family save the money spent every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE-1 clean cook-stove is biomass- and solar-powered. For more information on the ACE-1 cook-stove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy.
