A loan helped to plant plantain, cassava, and cocoyam, providing food security in indigenous territories.

Jose's story

Jose lives in the Embera-Wounaan indigenous community of Pueblo Nuevo in the province of Darien, eastern Panama.

He is very committed to all the different projects that improve the community and is a natural leader who is always willing to help and support the indigenous Embera people.

Jose is asking for a loan to prepare the land and to buy equipment and seeds to start a new production cycle of plantain, yam, and yucca. The demand for his produce has been increasing in the last couple of years from buyers who come directly to his community.

His agriculture business has made him very proud since through it, he can provide for his family, produce in his ancestral land, and provide food for his people. He dreams of being a successful farmer and providing a better education for his children.

He has good references in the local community bank, where he's taken previous loans of smaller amounts and has always been very punctual with the payment of his loan's instalments.

Thank you for supporting Jose!
