A loan helped to buy materials like cement, bricks and sand, and to pay for labor to complete the toilet and construction of septic tank.

Milton Kamara's story

Milton Kamara is a very hard-working married man with six children (five attending school). At the age of 49, Milton operates a stationery shop in Kamwenge, Uganda where he sells books, pens, pencils, reams of paper, and other scholastic materials. He has been running this business since 2013. Milton also earns some money from a retail shop and owns rentals as his other sources of income.

With the aim of educating his children, he is requesting a loan to buy materials like cement, bricks and sand, and to pay for labor to complete his toilet and construction of septic tank. He thanks Kiva for the previous loan which he used carefully. His hopes of expanding his business are always lowered by the low turn-out of customers due to the COVID-19 pandemic effect, coupled with dry seasons which affect farmers who are his main customers. He will be very grateful if his loan is again honored.

This loan is special because:

It targets extremely rural populations.
