A loan helped to buy seeds and equipment for her farming business.

Filomena's story

Filomena is 43 years old and married, with four children. She has a farming business that she started in 2017, and grows fruits and vegetables to sell to a local market in order to generate income to support her family.

Running her farming business has made Filomena independent because she can be responsible for herself and also provide a better life for her family. She would like a loan of US$1,500 from KIF to help grow her farming business. She plans to use this loan to buy seeds and equipment.

Her husband is a farmer, too, and Filomena lives with her family in a simple house. She also raises animals such as chickens and goats for extra income.

Filomena hopes to run a bigger business in the future and wants to thank lenders for the opportunity. This is a second loan; her first loan is already paid.

This loan is special because:

It provides entrepreneurs in underserved communities with the means to grow their businesses.
