A loan helped an established, woman-owned business thrive as a culinary cornerstone during COVID-19 and beyond.

Alexandra's story

I have been cooking professionally for 15 years and create meals that provide nourishment to fill the belly while also feeding the soul. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and have a deep connection to the land.

My mother received her PhD in biochemistry and teaches at my former high school, my father is a master storyteller and runs a youth-focused sustainability non-profit. I grew up foraging in their garden in both the literal and metaphorical sense; the combination of his theatrics and her devotion to the scientific method, both rooted in a strong work ethic with a deliberate moral compass, made me the woman I am today.

I am a single mother, councilwoman for the City of Washougal, and lifelong community organizer. My commitment to bringing people together, empowering individuals, and creating a safe, inclusive space for all goes far beyond the plate. I believe that food is more than a necessity, it's an opportunity.
