Bodas Del Cordero Group's story

Francisco is 62 years old, married, and the father of three children. He began to work as a producer of basic grains at the age of thirty with the help of his older siblings. Since then, this has been his daily life work. He began planting small areas of corn and beans shared with his neighbors who were landowners. In the coffee season, he works butchering and selling pork.

Currently he has 1.25 manzanas of corn established where he hopes to get a production of some 60 quintals of corn per manzana. His aspiration is to purchase his own land since, year after year, he has to rent land which drives up his costs and sometimes the prices for the products are very low and the cost/profit relationship is not very good.

He asks for a loan from Fundenuse with Kiva funds to establish a manzana of corn, and to purchase supplies and fertilizers. He belongs to the Bodas del Cordero solidarity group with Hazzell and Marlon.
