I started a new business as Owner/Operator of vending machines. I have one located in Maryland and is currently operating. I am hoping to locate three more within the next few months, or even sooner. I am not making many sales now, but am working towards the goal of bringing in a minumum of $500/month per machine. Then if all goes well, I may buy more machines and this could very well be a great investment. I am most proud of actually getting one machine located and running. I was a little nervous to actually operate it and get it started, but it all worked out. I am the only employee and plan to be for a couple of years, but if I do happen to expand, I will be able to hire others. I am promoting products that are healthy and nutritious, not just the normal junk in machines.
What is the purpose of this loan?
I am applying for this loan as I have very little cash flow. I need to be able to replenish my supplies when needed and buy new machines. I also need to help with advertising and placement of the machines. This loan will be a big boost before I run out of cash flow. We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
"Partial" means that the Lending Partner has opted to cover losses only up to 10%. If the U.S. dollar appreciates more than 10% against the local currency, those losses will be passed onto lenders.
"No" means that the Lending Partner is not covering any currency losses and all losses will be passed onto lenders.
