Jihrleah's story

I was born and raised in Tulsa, OK, to loving parents. The Tulsa community has been an essential part of my identity. I am a U.S Army war veteran. I served on active duty for four years from 2007-2011, deploying to S. Korea and Iraq. Serving in the Army taught me dedication, perseverance, and drive. After the Army, I enrolled at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in N.Y. I completed 1,000 hours of classroom training in their accelerated program. After completing my massage therapy training, I moved to North Carolina, where I worked on elite Army Soldiers. In 2013 I moved back to Tulsa after a loss in the family. I have worked at various day spas in Tulsa from 2013 to 2019. While working as a massage therapist, I enrolled at Tulsa Community College and earned my associate's degree in Liberal Arts. After graduating from TCC, I enrolled at Northeastern State University. I am currently a senior in the health and human performance program. In this program, I am learning how to promote total wellness and coaching methods. I am pursuing my bachelor's degree because I want to help educate people about proper lifestyle changes. Combining my degree with massage therapy will add to my business and offer a service that is rare to find in Tulsa.

When I am not working on my business or doing homework, you can find me at Tulsa Dog Training Club. I am the hospitality chairperson as well as a beginner obedience instructor. I have been a volunteer for this club for nearly six years. I also enjoy coffee from local roasters, hiking, biking, and theatre.
