A loan helped to buy dairy cows to increase income from cattle breeding and milk sales.

Astra's story

Astra is 47 years old, married, and the mother of five children. She has a secondary education. She grows crops and rears animals as her family's primary source of income. Thanks to her hard work and help from her husband, Astra currently has ten cows, fourteen sheep, two horses, and a 4.59-hectare plot of land, on which she grows potatoes.

Astra has an agreement with a local factory to provide organic milk for processing into dairy products. This allows her to continuously invest in her agricultural business. Astra learned that she could receive a loan from Bai Tushum Bank through their "Value Added Chain" program. She requested a loan in the amount of 120,000 KGS to purchase dairy cows in order to increase her earnings through cattle breeding and milk sales. Payments from the factory are deposited directly into Astra's bank account and automatically put towards paying off her loan. Earnings from the loan will help Astra develop her farm in the future and provide her children with a good education.
