A loan helped to buy farm inputs and purchase high-quality seeds and good fertilizer that will improve her crop production.

Jenifer's story

Jenifer is a 47-year old mother of four children living in Eldoret, a town that was significantly stuck by the 2007–2008 Kenyan crisis when violence occurred in Kenya. She is a determined person who moves from pillar to post for the success of her family. She has always had a liking for farming and nicknamed one of her cows. She is a very proud farmer and enjoys milking her dairy cows. Her cows produce between 10-15 liters a day and this helps her support her aging parents and children.

Jenifer grows crops, but she has not been making good profits, because of poor farming inputs. Using the loan to buy farm inputs and purchase high-quality seeds and good fertilizer will improve her crop production. Modern farming requires the use of modern techniques, and therefore, using high-quality seeds will assure her of a bumper harvest and increased profit levels. Jenifer is a visionary and her goal for the season is to boost her crop production over the previous year, and to also build a modern house.
