My parents struggled at times to keep food on our table. My mother used to clean our neighbors homes for extra money. Most were elderly neighbors who had a hard time maintaining there homes. I would go with my mother to clean. Dusting was one of my favorite things to do, I used to love cleaning one of the neighbors figurines she had I thought were so beautiful so I used to pride myself on dusting them til they shined. After I got older I would still clean different neighbors homes, later on the pastor of of our church asked me to clean the church on a weekly basis. This was something I knew I had a passion to do. My business is a cleaning service. I provide a cleaning service to different people in there homes. I decided to start this kind of business years ago. But I recently decided to make it official a few months ago starting out with my DBA. My business operates out of my home I use flyers to advertise and people call me for services. My biggest challenge I've had so far is not being able to provide certain services to customers because I didn't have the necessary equipment I had to turn customers away. My future goals for my business is to become liesense and expand and eventually be able to hire employees. What makes me most proud is people meet me and hire me to do service for them I love the fact that they choose me over other cleaning services. I don't have any employees or a business partner, just myself right now. I believe my business have a social impact because I'm well known in my community and people rely on my service and trust me.

When lending internationally, the local currency in a borrower's country may lose some of its value compared to the US dollar -- requiring the partner to use more of its local currency to repay Kiva in USD. We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
"Partial" means that the Lending Partner has opted to cover losses only up to 10%. If the U.S. dollar appreciates more than 10% against the local currency, those losses will be passed onto lenders.
