A loan helped a disabled lady to dig a well so she can have enough water for her farming demands.

Mirela's story

Mirela is a 46-year-old disabled lady from a northern Albanian village. She is married, but the couple never had the chance to become parents. They both suffer from different disabilities; nevertheless, they practice agricultural activities to make an income for themselves, as the disability pensions are very low. Unfortunately, during the November earthquake her house got severely damaged and she and her husband are now living in a tent in their garden. They are waiting for government funds to repair their house.

Meanwhile life goes on, especially for agriculture. Last season Mirela could not have a good harvest as they lacked water for irrigation. They want to dig a well now so that they will be sure they will have enough water for irrigation.

Mirela wishes all the best to all of you!
