W. Joy is a 38-year-old female farmer based in Naluvule, Kampala. She has five children, all going to school.
Being a small-scale farmer has not helped Joy dispense with hard financial circumstances since she began five years ago. Being a farmer, she has worked hard to grapple with a myriad of problems such as the constant chicken diseases that have drastically affected her poultry.
With a little help from friends Joy has managed to overcome most of her problems. In a month, she says she makes close to 80,000 shillings from selling her chickens. Her future plan is to transform her poultry farm into a large scale farm entity that will support her and her family in the near future.
With this loan, Joy also wants to give her poultry venture a renewed lease of life.
