Mercedes, age 45, lives with her husband and one of their children in the Los Algarrobos section of the Mosefú district. It is also known as “La Ciudad de las Flores” (The City of the Flowers). This area is famous nationally for its tourist and religious festivities. It is located 20 minutes from the city of Chiclayo.
For many years she has been selling flowers outside of the cemetery in the city of Ferreñafe. She works at this business on the week-ends because that is when there are a large number of people who visit the graveyard. This activity constitutes an important source of economic help to the family. Her husband is a farmer, and this does not produce income in a permanent way.
A few months ago Mercedes, with much effort, got a “mototaxi” (three wheeled motorized vehicle used to transport cargo and passengers). She gets additional income from the mototaxi. The vehicle is driven by her son. He travels the city of Monsefú and the outlying rural communities offering his services.
The continual usage of the vehicle and the rough state of the roads that join the city of Monsefú with its rural communities have caused the mototaxi to start to have some problems. These require urgent repair to make it operate correctly. She also wants to pay for all of the documentation that permits her to legally offer taxi services. That is why she is requesting a loan for 2,000 PEN from Edpyme Alternativa to help her achieve her objective.
Mercedes is a hard-working woman who is devoted to her family. Her greatest desire is to continue growing as a businesswoman to be able to give her family a better quality of life. She has previously worked with our institution. She has demonstrated punctuality and responsibility at the time of making her payments.
