Felipa is 54 years old, she is married and her husband works in agriculture and making hammocks. Only two of her children live with them, as the others have emigrated abroad.
Felipa earns a living making silk and nylon hammocks. She also makes tablecloths, which she sells in the community. Her husband taught her this work when they got married. Felipa works every day from 10:00 in the morning. She also farms crops and raises livestock.
With her three previous loans Felipa was able to buy materials to make hammocks, she has already paid them. She needs a new loan to buy more yarn to make hammocks and sell them; she will also pay for the labor to collect the harvests of basic grains.
She dreams of making improvements to her house, gain larger earnings from her business and continuing to work with the help of the loans.
