A loan helped to purchase cereals in bulk quantities to meet her customers' demands.

Ayisha's story

Ayisha is a 25-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her nuclear family in the Bole district in Ghana. She retails cereals and grains such as rice, maize, wheat and sorghum. With her previous Kiva loans, she was able to buy stock in higher quantities to increase her profit margin. She used the profit to support her family’s basic needs.

She is requesting another loan to be able to purchase the cereals in bulk quantities to meet her customers' demands. She plans to use the profit to continue her education.

Ayisha will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering as a CAMFED alumnae, mentoring younger members of CAMA, the CAMFED alumnae association, through a wide range of personal and entrepreneurial issues.

This loan is special because:

It provides 0% interest loans to entrepreneurs that give back to their community by mentoring.
