Nancy's Group's story

Pictured above is Nancy, often described as an extremely reliable person. She is 35 years old and has 5 children. As a group leader, she is representing her group of 8 farmers in Teso District, Kenya.

Nancy is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again as this means that she can earn enough to feed her family, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Nancy says that she is happy to have made that decision. Since she first joined in 2017, Nancy has been able to consistently feed her family, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Nancy will use the profits from this season to send her children to school.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 5.25 acres. Given that a member of the group will also be purchasing a solar light, with this loan, the group will receive 1 solar light.

In this group: Nancy , Beatrice, Augustine, Celestine, Lilian, Everline, Milka, Dibora

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers to purchase seeds and solar lanterns.
