A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Penina's Group's story

Penina, pictured above, has been a farmer for 15 years, and is now proud to represent her group of six farmers in Alego District. She is 30 years old, married and has four children.

Penina likes to think of herself as a very friendly person. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2017 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to gain leadership skills. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has learnt a lot from farming trainings. Penina plans to use the profits from this coming season to send her children to school.

In total, Penina’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 2.25 acres of land.

In this group: Penina, Anna, Eunice, Seline, Jocinter, Phoebe
