01_Mbirane Group's story

This banc villageois started in 2008 and includes 19 women who live in the same village. They have good familial or neighborhood relationships. They successfully paid back more than 15 loans. Their main activity is trade.

Madame Birane is the representative of the group. She is 60 years old and is raising her hand on the far right of the photo. She is married and the mother of seven children who all go to school. Two of them are boys.

Madame Birane’s two activities are aviculture and grocery retail. She works both from her home and at the market. Madame Birane has 18 years of experience in both activity sectors. She will buy bags of rice, milk, and oil for the store. She will also buy chicks, bags of feed, and pay for vaccines.

She sells her good for profits, but the other advantage is that she can use the chicken to feed her family. She will use her profits to pay for her children’s schooling and contribute to the household expenses.
