Laxmi's story

Mrs. Laxmi B. is a tailor in the town of Bhakepati. She opened her tailoring shop three years ago. Her specialty is making custom-fitted ladies dresses like the Kurta Sulwar (a pant and tunic outfit) which are very popular with Nepali women. Before starting her own business, Mrs B. took a six month training course in tailoring from a tailor shop near her locality.

Mrs. B. plans to use the loan to buy raw materials for her tailoring work. She wants to use the shop's income for self-improvement and for her children’s education. In Nepal the cost of a good education is increasing and Mrs. B. is saving her income to provide a good education for her children.
