A loan helped to buy sheets, comforters and blankets.

Mónica Alexandra's story

Mónica C., aged 42, lives in a peri-urban marginalized area of Guayaquil. Her house is made of concrete and the only basic services available to her are electricity and water. Her husband works as a driver. They have a 19-year-old son.

Because Mónica desperately wanted to have her own business, she decided to invest her savings in sheets and curtains. Gradually she began to buy in bulk due to the demand she had. Now she has a small room in her house where she sells sheets, curtains, blankets, etc. She works every day and also travels to downtown Guayaquil to sell her sheets.

Mónica wants to use her loan to buy sheets, comforters and bedspreads for her store. In future she wants to have her own premises and keep them well stocked.
