Alexis's story

Born and raised in Rochester, NY I discovered my interest for cooking at an early age. As a child I cooked with my mother and grandmother quite often picking up on different cooking techniques and recipes. I became a young mother at the age of 15, and others were quick to judge me assuming life had limitations on me and what I would achieve. This stereotype has been going on for decades and pushed me to work even harder. Not only did I graduate high school but I also graduated from college; all the while working and being a single mother of two children at the time. After Majoring in office technology, and working several jobs over the years, I realized I was working paycheck to paycheck, not having much time to spend with my children and generally miserable with desk work overall. My happy place was and still is being in the kitchen; my passion for culinary arts kept me learning and creating new dishes throughout these years.
It wasn’t until I was engaged to marry my long-time best friend of 12 years that I was able to dream and find out what my passion truly was. Being a single mother was really hard and didn’t allow much room for the imagination. Now that I am married and given birth to a third child my life as a mompreneur has never been more rewarding. I have managed to commit time to be a mother, wife, and business woman trying my best to create financial growth in my home. I want to be an inspiration to my children and all young adults who face daily life challenges; encouraging them to use their imaginations, set goals for themselves and dream limitlessly.
