Carmen Lorena's story

Carmen Lorena R. M. has spent three years making and selling corn tortillas from her house. Her daughter helps her to grind the corn and make the tortillas. Carmen grinds 16 measurements of corn every day which are distributed to small restaurants and local grocery stores in the municipality of Jacaleapa.

Carmen lives with her de facto, who works as an administrator of a cattle farm in the department of Intibuca. He travels from Intibuca every one to two weeks to visit the family and be looked after by Carmen. At the moment Carmen has two children who depend on her and her de facto.

Carmen will use this loan to purchase 12 sacks of corn, 20 loads of firewood and 30 bags of lime.
