Edson sells food and specializes in broasted chicken. He started as a kitchen assistant a well-known restaurant in Cochabamba. (Cochabamba is the capital city of the Cochabamba department and the Cercado province. It’s the third most important city in Bolivia. It’s located in the center of the country, in the valley of the same name, in the Andes corridor.)
He came to our institution, Emprender, to request this loan. He had not worked with an institution before, but after our evaluation, his loan was approved and given preferential status. He used the money from his first loan to open a small food stall. Working with us, he was able to create his own capital and he expanded his stall, which is now a store that sells chicken. He plans to use the money from this loan to buy a large broaster which he needs. He is happy to be working with Emprender, since we opened our doors to him. He is grateful to Emprender and to Kiva for the trust placed in him when granting this loan.
