A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Christina's Group's story

Christina, pictured above, has been a farmer for 5 years, and is now proud to represent her group of 12 farmers in the Iringa District. She is 35 years old, married and has 3 children.

Christina likes to think of herself as a very friendly person. She has been working with the One Acre Fund since 2015 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has learned a lot from their training in farming. Christina plans to use the profits from this coming season to invest in a business.

In total, Christina’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 10.5 acres of land. Some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light with this loan, so the group will also receive a total of 2 solar lights.

In this group: Christina, Zainabu, Emilia, Winred, Adriano, Aidani, Albati, Zawadi, Hasadi, Aulelya, Blasia, Anabisa

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers to purchase seeds and solar lanterns.
