Monalisa's story

Monalisa N. is from the city of San Isidro, Tarlac. She is 36 years old. Monalisa is married and has three school-aged children. To make a living, Monalisa runs a specialized retail store. The main source of income for the business comes primarily from selling fish and seafood products in the local community. Monalisa has been engaged in her business for over three years and earns approximately 9,000 PHP a month for these activities.

Monalisa joined ASKI this year to gain access to financial services. She wished to help improve her living situation and increase her ability to engage in business activities. Monalisa is requesting a new loan of 5,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase additional products to sell. This loan will be the first loan taken out by Monalisa from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.

About ASKI:

ASKI is one of the most successful microfinance institutions in the Philippines. It has 25 branches covering the central and northeastern areas. Its clients are mostly farmers, fisherfolk, and small entrepreneurs.
