Esther's story

Esther is a 55-year-old Mozambican woman. She is married and lives with her husband and their two lovely daughters.

Esther has been passionate about agriculture since she was a young girl. She learnt from her parents how to better produce in order to increase the yield.

Together with her husband, Esther acquired a portion of land in Boane, a district within Maputo province. There, Esther produces vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, carrot, and tomato. She also produces fruits such as orange, lemon, and mango.

She dreams about being able to produce vegetables the whole year as well as support people around her farm, mainly women and youth, connecting them to a better market.

In order to fulfil her dreams, Esther is requesting a Kiva loan to buy two tropicalized greenhouses to improve her vegetable production to sell in the market in order to improve her income and also support her community.
