Rebeca, 18, was born in Lima and she is the third of 4 children. Her parents are separated and she currently only lives with her younger sister who is 15 and her mother. Her mother is a homemaker and her father works in construction. Rebeca is studying Industrial Chemistry. She was interested in this field due to its constant innovation and development, something she is passionate about. She is in her third semester and has a year and a half left until she finishes her degree.
Right now, her family is facing economic difficulties. The little that her father sends isn't always enough and this puts continuing her education at risk. Rebeca says that her older sister was also at SENATI, but unfortunately, she had to drop out due to a lack of economic resources.
Rebeca doesn't want to miss out on her opportunity to get an education, since finishing her degree would make her the first one in her family to have a college education. Once she finishes school, she wants to work in the beauty industry, in the area of cosmetics and perfume, but always responsibly and ethically considering the environment. Her greatest dream is to have her family together and to work in a career she is passionate about. Her mother is proud of her.
Rebeca closes with this message, "thanks so much for helping me and for helping so many students like me to make their dreams a reality in having a career. Thank you for changing my life."
