Raejeena's story

I own and run my family business that originated with my mother, who taught me at a young age to carve fruit to cope with our lupus health battles. I was diagnosed with SLE (Lupus) an auto immune system disease at age 11. My mother was diagnosed a year prior, so throughout the years I spent most of my time in the hospital and being homeschooled. As I got older, I began different businesses to create something more with my life. I had gone through many bouts of hospital stays and depression until I decided to not let my health battles consume me. That is when I started making money with all the hobbies I had while passing time in the hospital. I was determined to live through my health battles, even during times I didn’t have proper resources to move further. I wanted to start a business that would fall in line with my health and that could make a difference. I was always acknowledged for my creativity and my mother pushed me to do more fruit; at every family function I had to surpass my last creation. I lost myself in personal relationships, and then the loss of my mother in 2017 relit my passion to carve again. I have also begun to teach my children as my mother taught me with hopes of them taking over the empire I am creating. I push every day to show my children that no matter what life throws at you, you catch it and work it into your destiny.
