A loan helped to buy more bags of coconuts to sell.

Comfort's story

Comfort is 26 years old; she lives with her partner along with one child, who is 2 years old. Comfort's child lives at home while schooling. Comfort went to school up to the eighth grade.

Comfort deals in a business selling bags of coconuts. Her mother taught her this trade. She has been running her business for 10 years now without any problems. She transports goods to her business site by the means of car. She says she enjoys selling because it gives her more profits.

She desires to empower her life. To help expand her business, Comfort applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. She plans to use the loan to buy more bags of coconuts to sell in order to repay her loan installment. In the future, she would like to deal in an international business and build houses. She wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
