A loan helped to buy a solar panel, a cool box, soft drinks, and ice blocks for her general store business.

Edith's story

Edith is 32 years old and married, with four children. They live in a community outside Honiara, capital of Solomon Island.

She owns and operates a small general store business selling rice, noodles, biscuits, soft drinks, and ice blocks in her community to earn a living. She has been doing this for five years.

She has requested a loan to pay for a solar panel for lighting, a cool box for storing cold drinks, and soft drinks and ice blocks to increase her stocks and assist her with her business.

She plans to use her profits to meet her family's expenses and help pay for her children's school fees.

She joined SPBD in 2014 to gain access to financial services.
