A loan helped to buy more land, to enable this borrower with a good credit history to grow more crops and help create hope for her this season.

Everline's story

Everline (a mother of 3 who is pictured carrying one above) is a hardworking person who always aims for the highest. As the year 2019 comes to an end, Everline wants to turn her life around. She plans to double her crop production this year, and that is why she is seeking a loan to buy more land to increase her farming. Everline lives in the Kenyenya area of Kenya. She is blessed with lovely children who are her greatest motivators. Everline has been a mixed farmer for the last few years.

The Kenyenya area is a favorable one for farming, so she is seeking a 70,000 KES loan through Kiva's field partner, Juhudi Kilimo, to buy more land, to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and expand her business.

Being a poor woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her remote village, is very challenging, but Everline feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like herself. She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions, but her biggest dreams are to become independent and to secure her family’s future.

She is a borrower who has a good credit history and is worth supporting.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
