Mary's story

Special people in the Kiva community!

Mary, 60 years old, is a mother of three living in Nyahururu, a town that was significantly stuck by the 2007–2008 Kenyan crisis when violence occurred in Kenya. She is an excellent example of a truly caring African mother. Her children are showing much interest in farming and even accompany their mother to the farm. Her family’s main source of income is crop farming. Mary also engages in other agricultural activities, all of which are aimed at improving their standard of living.

As the cost of agricultural production in the Kenyan rural lands continue to skyrocket, acquiring land and inputs has become a hiccup for many farmers. Therefore, Mary is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer that will help improve her farm.

Your loan will enable her to improve her farm's production. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for products in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan and improve her family's quality of life. Mary also hopes to improve the conditions of her house.

Help this mother accomplish all her dreams with just a loan.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
