A loan helped to buy construction materials (blocks, etc.).

Domingos Cumbane's story

Domingos Cumbane S. was born in Tete province in northern Mozambique. He is 42 years old, married, and the father of 4 children who are 5, 3, and 10 months (twins). The oldest goes to school. He attended 11th grade, but was not able to continue because he was drafted into obligatory military service. He lives in his own house with his family, and doesn't support anyone else besides them.

He left Tete province for Boane to fulfill his obligatory military service in 1984. After finishing his military career, he decided to continue to work in the Ministry of Defense as a driver. Later, he married his wife and they secured a house in Bairro 07 in Boane district, where he lives now with his family. He has been at this job for more than 24 years and earns a monthly salary of 3,300 MZN. He uses this to pay for household expenses and he even saves some in his bank account.

He has had loans with the Millennium Bim bank, but he later decided not to continue with them. He found out about Hluvuku through friends who are also clients of the institution. This is his 2nd loan, which has a value of 10,000 MZN. He plans to use it to buy construction material (rebar, support beams, cement, sand, etc.) in order to finish with his work [building his house]. The previous loan was for 7,000 MZN, for the same purpose.

In the future, he would like to request more loans to perfectly finish and furnish his house in order to offer better living conditions to his family.
