A loan helped leather, cloth, and raw materials.

Jairo Manuel's story

Jario is 57 years old and lives in the “Quiroga Central” in Bogotá, where he has his business, “Abner A.C. Manufacturas Cuero y Textil.” There he dedicates himself to the design, manufacture, and sale of leather and textile items, such as fine shoes for ladies and gentlemen, hats, and elegant boots. This will be his first loan through “Fundación Mario Santo Domingo.” He is requesting $1,200 to buy raw materials, such as leather and cloth, in bulk, in order to manufacture hats and shoes. He wants to increase the number of items that he makes in order to grow his business and improve his income.

His goal is to grow his factory to the national level and have it become well known for its quality, all within five years.

His greatest desire is to beat the competition he faces from counterfeit items from China and Taiwan, which are cheaper and redirects the demand [for his goods].

He lives in a residential neighborhood which includes some commercial areas. This mix benefits his market, as his customers are also small business owners.
