Luisa Natali's story

Luisa C. has been a seamstress for 10 years. She learned while employed for six years at a Maquila (bonded assembly plant set up by a foreign firm). Health problems prevented her from continuing in that employment so she decided to set up a small tailoring workshop. Most of her customers request clothing repairs like: zipper replacements, button attachments, hemming pants, etc. In addition, this season is good because the new school term is starting and she has been asked for several school uniforms. She also makes pants, shirts and skirts.

Luisa is a single mother; she has two children who are in school; she receives some child support help from the father of her children.

She is very hard-working because she also prepares fruit juices and charamuscas (frozen fruit drink served in plastic bags) of various flavors.

She needs funding to buy sewing materials.
