A loan helped to pay for labors and also to expand her business market sales.

Paea's story

Paea is 31 years old. She is married to a farmer, and they have three children to raise. They all attend school, and they live in their own home in the island of 'Eua. Her business is growing crops, and her husband helps with the business. They grow yams, taro, cassava, sweet potatoes, and also kava. Her husband does the growing and takes care of the plantation while Paea does the marketing and selling during harvest time. She sells the crops in the local market. This is their main source of income. What really brings in fast and more money is their kava plantation. Their children's educational needs are all paid for by their business. She is hoping to use her loan money to pay for labor to help her husband and also to expand their market sales from the local market to overseas by exporting the crops.
