A loan helped to buy fertilizer to increase her income from a good harvest of organic beans.

Kulzhamila's story

Kulzhamila, age 59, is widowed and is the mother heroine of seven children [an honorary title bestowed upon mothers of large families in the Soviet Union]. She has been engaged in animal husbandry and crop farming since 1998 as the primary source of income for her family. Thanks to Kulzhamila's hard work, her farm currently has four cows, 15 sheep, and a 2.7-hectare plot of land where she grows beans.

In order to further develop her farm, Kulzhamila applied to Bai Tushum Bank for a loan of 50,000 som (KGS) to buy fertilizer, with the goal of increasing her crop of organic beans. Profits from the loan will help Kulzhamila buy a plot of land to build a house.
