Mercedes is a young entrepreneur who lives in the province of San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic. This province is known for having the most sugar cane processing factories in the country.
Mercedes is the mother of three children who are her motivation for going out every day to do the best she can. For three years she has been running a store where she sells sugar, salt, rice, beans, vegetables, condiments, canned goods, flour and other merchandise. With this business Mercedes earns an income to help support her household.
Mercedes finished secondary school and has the goal of being able to study for a nursing degree because she enjoys helping people. She also dreams of a seeing her business grow and become more prosperous.
She will use the loan to buy new merchandise to stock her store.
