A loan helped to buy scarves to sell.

Run's story

S. Run, age 35, is a widowed silk scarf weaver who lives in the Takeo Province with three young children and one of her sisters. She typically makes about US $6.00 each day, and her sister, S. Ry, makes about US $3.00 each day as a garment factory worker.

S. Run would like a loan of US $1200 to reinvest in her silk scarf business. She will purchase more silk scarves from the weavers in the village and resell them to the market wholesaler. This business will increase her profits and it would also allow her to save even more for her children’s education in the future.

S. Run appears in the picture with her sister.
