Celia is 27 years old. She lives with her husband and 8-year-old child. She works in agriculture, specifically growing cacao, coffee, and bananas. For eight years, she's worked on her plot of land. Her greatest difficulty in all these years has been the high demand, which has forced down the cost of her products, so that she is only able to make a little profit and sometimes is not able to sell all her product.
Completing the harvest process has been very difficult: she has to fight disease and do good maintenance, for which reason Celia is requesting a loan through Kiva for the purchase of compost and to hire workers to help her with its application and pulling weeds to get a good cacao harvest.
As a second job, Celia has looked for work on other parcels to help with cleaning and be able to earn economic income. She really wants to continue earning money so that she can buy a vehicle to use to transport her products.
Her greatest dream is to grow her parcel and expand to more hectares of coffee and cacao in order to earn more economic income.
She considers herself a hard-working person, committed to her work, and with drive to get ahead for her child, who is her greatest motivation.
Currently, she is a member of the Estrellas de Ñahuinpuquio group, composed of 12 members and led by her.
In this group: Maximina, Meliza, Celia, Deicy, Frine, Alejandro, Elizabeth, Claudia, Idma, Yasmina, Rochmi, Felicidad
