The Dembagnouman group comprises six married women, mostly from polygamous families. On average, they are 50 years old and have six children. They live in the village of Togo in Ségou prefecture in Mali's 4th administrative region.
They have ties to their neighbors and with their birth families and their families by marriage, and are in the business of selling various products. To increase working capital, they have had five loans from Soro Yiriwaso (all properly repaid) and have applied for a sixth.
They want to buy 150 mortars, 200 bags of charcoal, 5 sacks of rice, 10 sacks of millet and 15 sacks of wheat flour in the big market in Ségou, at Noumou Wêrê, and in neighboring villages. The goods would be sold from their homes, at the fair in Ségou, and by going door to door, for cash or credit, to both men and women.
They hope for income of 28,000 CFA a month, with which they will pay back Soro Yiriwaso and take care of family expenses.
Their ambition is to buy oxen so that they work a large field, growing peanuts and beans.
