A loan helped a member to buy some sheep.

Louga_Gie Bokk Jom Fass Loly Group's story

This group consists of 11 women who share strong ties of solidarity and mutual assistance. They live in the same village and have seized the opportunity to join this women's group when it was founded, locally, in 2018. Their main activity is livestock fattening and small retail business.

Aminata, standing at the far right in the photo with her hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 49 years old, married, and the mother of seven children (three girls and four sons) who all go to school. She fattens livestock for a living and also sells vegetables. She has a good experience in this field of work, as she has been involved in this activity for several years.

She plans to use her loan to buy some sheep to fatten and resell in her village after at least five months. With the extra money she will also buy vegetables.

She will use her profits to boost her business, repay her loan, and help her husband to cover the daily expenses.

In this group: Aminata, Ndiaya, Khady, Marame, Daba, Ndeye, Maty, Marame, Faty, Sokhna, Fatou
